This is a capsule collection I did featuring old favorite pieces alongside some new things that I created while living in Brooklyn. It was shot at Riis Beach by photographer Charles Ludeke featuring a few queer Brooklyn artists and models.
After the election results came out in 2016, I wanted to make a small collection of fashion for people to protest in. I aimed to create a balance between substantial pieces that would keep people warm while marching through the streets and pieces that would make a very loud statement of resistance.
I prepared a random assortment of pieces for a pop up sale in Brooklyn and decided to casually shoot the pieces on the rooftop of my friends apartment. They came together as an unexpected collection of ready-to-wear mixed with avant garde costuming.
This collection was inspired by the grotesque and monstrous anxieties of puberty. The line features dresses and bodysuits woven out of elastic and zip ties. Other materials used to make the pieces were jersey, plaster, chiffon, dye, feathers, and fringe. The line debuted at UCSC's Porter College in 2012.
This collection was a fantastical reinterpretation of my grandfather's sailing and travel journals he kept throughout his life. The line features pieces inspired by the sea crafted out of elastic, zip ties, vinyl, fur, and rope. It was showcased at UCSC's Porter College in 2013.
